How to sell videos online and keep 97% of what people pay.

Most ways to sell a video online hand a large share to whoever runs the shop, then pay you on their schedule. With JubJub, viewers pay as they watch on your own site or app, AI buyers pay to use your work, and anyone with a share is paid their part at the same moment. You keep 97%.

You made the video. Somebody wants to watch it, or use it, and would pay. Between the two of you sits a platform that sets the price, keeps a large share, and pays you in 45 days if you clear the minimum.

This page is about the other way: the viewer pays you, the buyer pays you, and the people who helped make the piece are paid their share at the same moment. 3 ways to earn, 1 record of who owns what, and a 3% fee that only exists when money moves.

01The usual ways

The usual ways to sell a video online, and where the money goes.

Ad revenue pays by the thousand views and the platform keeps a share you do not set. A subscription asks a stranger to commit to a month before they have watched a minute. A marketplace lists your file next to 10,000 others, sets the terms, and pays out on its own calendar.

Each of those is a real way to earn, and plenty of creators do. The common thread is that someone else owns the shop. They decide the price, the cut, the payout date and the rules, and they can change any of them.

If you want to sell videos online for cash, the honest version of that is to be paid directly, as it happens, in a currency you can hold. That is what the 3 ways below do, and the section after them says exactly what the money is and how you get it out.

02Way 1

Viewers pay for what they watch, on your own site or app.

The JubJub player turns any video on your website, blog, newsletter page or app into a paid watch. You set a price per minute. A viewer presses play, connects a wallet, and payment moves from them to you every second the video runs. They stop, it stops.

There is no subscription for them to start and no account for them to create with JubJub. They pay for the minutes they watched, and nothing for the ones they did not. For you, there is no payout schedule, because the payment has already arrived.

  • Put the player on your own pages.

One script tag and one call. It works with the video element you already have, on any host, in any framework. The developers page has the snippet, and JubJub Studio generates your key.

  • Or share a link.

Every piece you publish has a page at jubjubapp.com/watch, with the same player and the same per-second payment. Send the link anywhere a link goes.

  • Host it with JubJub, or keep your own.

JubJub can store and stream the file. If your video already lives on your own host, point the player at it and JubJub only counts the minutes. The payment routes the same either way.

Payments are in USDC on Base, a digital dollar that holds its value at 1 US dollar. 3% is taken by the payment contract when each payment settles, and the other 97% goes to the rights holders of the piece. Those are the only 2 numbers.

03Way 2

AI buyers pay to use your work.

A second kind of customer is already searching for video: AI agents and the companies that run them, looking for human-made material with a clear owner. On JubJub, every piece you publish is findable by those buyers, and anything beyond a preview is paid for per use.

Searching your catalogue is free, so buyers can find you. Access to the structured breakdown of a piece is paid. Access to the full transcript, with your details as the rights holder so they can approach you about a licence, is paid again. The money settles 97% to you and 3% to JubJub, over the x402 protocol, with no invoice and nothing to chase.

Worth being precise about what is sold. It is an introduction to your work and to you, not the video file. Nobody downloads your master through this, and any licence of the footage itself is a conversation you have on your own terms. How agents pay has the mechanics and the current prices are on the pricing page.

Agent access is on by default so that earning takes no setup. If you would rather a piece were not findable, switch it off per piece.

The viewer pays you. The buyer pays you. The editor is paid at the same moment. Nobody is waiting for the 15th.

Collaborators are paid their share, automatically.

Most videos are not made by 1 person. An editor, a co-host, a camera operator, a writer. Today their share is a spreadsheet and a transfer you remember to make. On JubJub the share is written into the piece when it goes out.

Set the split once for the team, or override it for one workspace. When a video publishes, the ownership of that piece is recorded with everyone's percentage on it. Every payment the piece earns afterwards, from a viewer or from an agent, is divided by that record at the moment it lands. 97% to the holders in their proportions, 3% to JubJub.

Nobody reconciles. Nobody is owed. The same record that says who owns the piece is the record that pays them, and anyone on it can check it. How ownership is recorded covers the record itself.

05The money

What the money is, and how you get it.

A page about selling videos for cash owes you this part in plain words.

What you are paid in

USDC, a digital dollar

Every payment on JubJub is in USDC on Base. 1 USDC holds its value at 1 US dollar. It is money you hold yourself, in a wallet you control, and you can send it to any other wallet at any time from JubJub Studio.

  • Streaming payments land in your wallet as the viewer watches
  • Agent purchases accrue to the piece's contract; pull them into your wallet with one click
  • No minimum, no monthly cycle
What JubJub does not do

Bank transfers

JubJub does not convert your earnings to your local currency and does not pay into a bank account. Turning USDC into cash in a bank is a step you take with an exchange or a wallet provider that offers it, outside JubJub.

  • No fiat payouts
  • No card processing
  • Brand deal payments are coming next, not live today

The fee is 3% of revenue, taken by the payment contract at the moment money moves. It is the same 3% for streaming and for agent purchases, and it cannot be changed quietly, because it is written into the contract. There is no subscription, no tier and no listing fee. The pricing page is one line long for that reason.

06How to start

Free. Connect the platforms you already publish to, with your own logins, and connect the wallet your payments should land in.

It goes out to your platforms as usual, and the ownership record is written as part of publishing, with your team's split on it if you have one.

  3. Set a price per minute.

From the Studio, or by asking your AI assistant. Every piece carries a default until you change it.

  4. Put the player on your site, or share the watch link.

FAQSelling videos online, answered plainly

Questions, answered plainly.

Do I need to understand crypto to sell videos with JubJub?

No. You sign up, connect your channels, publish, and set a price. Payments arrive as USDC, a digital dollar, in a wallet connected to your JubJub account. You never write a contract, buy a token or run a node. The chain is the plumbing, and it stays underneath.

What does a viewer need in order to pay?

A wallet with USDC on Base. When they press play on a paid piece, the player asks them to choose a wallet and sign in, then payment runs per second while they watch. There is no account to create on JubJub and no subscription to start.

Can I set my own price?

Yes. Streaming is priced per minute of playback and you set it per piece, from JubJub Studio or by asking your AI assistant. Agent purchases are priced per purchase at the rates on the pricing page, and you keep 97% of each.

Do I have to host my videos on JubJub?

No. JubJub can host and stream the file for you, or the player can point at a video on your own host and only count the minutes. Either way the payment routes the same, to you and anyone with a share.

How do I turn what I earn into money in my bank account?

JubJub pays in USDC, a digital dollar that holds its value at 1 US dollar, into a wallet you control. JubJub does not convert it to your local currency or pay into a bank account. Moving it to an exchange or a wallet provider that offers cash-out is a step you take outside JubJub.

Is there a subscription, a listing fee or a payout schedule?

None of the 3. JubJub is free to use and takes 3% of revenue at the moment it moves, written into the payment contract itself. Streaming payments land as the viewer watches. Revenue that accrues to a piece's contract is pulled into your wallet with one click, no minimum and no monthly cycle.
